MeTA1 1.0.PreAlpha24.0
is available for testing.
It fixes some
problems with header modifications requested by a pmilter.
It has been noted that it is not possible to compile pmilters
just using the installed MeTA1 files;
this problem will be addressed in the next release.

libpmilter did not clean up properly after an MTA closed a connection
(note: an MTA - pmilter connection persists as long as both processes
are running, it is not per SMTP session), which would cause it to
reject further MTA connections after 32 reconnects. Problem found
by Sergey Poznyakoff.

If a header modification did not apply (e.g., replacement of a
header using an index that is out of range), then subsequent header
appends were skipped (note: this is basically a programming error
in the pmilter). Fix based on patch from Sergey Poznyakoff.

Removal or replacement of the 0th header (the locally added Received:
header) via pmilter did not work. Problem noticed by Sergey
Poznyakoff.
- 2008-01-27
Header modification were not sorted properly and hence some pmilter
requests to remove and replace headers might not have worked
(depending on the order in which they were issued). Patch from
Sergey Poznyakoff.
- 2008-01-26
The mailertable syntax described in the documentation is not
completely implemented, hence the documentation has been changed.
The syntax will most likely be revisited in a later version.
- 2008-01-23
Use the new -u option for createmap(8) in the Makefile for the MeTA1
maps that is created during installation.
